Inverde

Safety and Forestry Training

Inverde participates in the EU Leonardo project ‘Safety and Forestry Training’. Safety during forestry training is the issue. The project’s aims are to form a basis for a sustainable safety and health attitude in forestry and to improve the safety circumstances during the practical training.

The first step is an inquiry amongst the practice instructors in the various training centres of the participating countries. The inquire gives insight in the frequency of minor and mayor accidents, and more specifically in the way to prevent accidents during training. Research will result in the producing of a list of safety recommendations on organizational, didactical and technical level. The developed products will be tested, evaluated and translated into the languages of the participating institutions. Afterwards they will be implemented by the training centres to enhance the quality of the training courses.

The project will be finalised in May 2007. Various institutions from nine countries participate: France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Estonia, the Netherlands and Belgium. The Centre Forestier de la Région Provence Alpes Côtes d’Azur promotes the project. For more information visit the site www.eduforest.org.
