Playing in a forest-friendly way

On June 1st, 1999 the project bosvriendelijk spelen (playing in a forest-friendly way) was started. To play in a forest friendly way is not always obvious. A forest is more than a huge playground. In order to sensitize youth workers of the do’s and don’ts, learning packages have been produced. These packages guide you through all aspects of playing in a forest friendly way.

Besides the learning packages, a manual was published in 2001: Kiekebosboek. In 2002 the video Ik wil groen. (I want green space.) was released.

You can find all information on ‘playing in a forest friendly way’ on the interactive, forest-friendly website www.bosspel.be.

After five years (in 2004) the project playing in a forest friendly way was terminated. Do youth movements play more forest friendly now? Are forest rangers more youth friendly? Inverde made the test. You can read the findings in the evaluation form ‘Bos en spelen doorgelicht’ (Forest and games audited).

In 2005 a new and broader project started: playing in a nature-friendly way.
